Mountain View Lodge & Cabins

We stayed at Mountain View in August 2025. Everything was clean and so nice. We especially enjoyed the outdoor deck area and fire table. Cary & Melissa were so helpful and wonderful hosts!

We had a great time at this accommodation. Everything was very clean, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, we still enjoyed our evenings on the covered terrace. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby sights and attractions.

Great find. A cabin like small town like friendly people and owners like happy place. We enjoyed the the clean and attractive rooms and spotless bathroom. So many towels and cozy beds and bedding. We decided to not do a chain and this place surpassed our needs. The location and Access to parks and monuments was excellent and just a quick short drive to town. Rode the Mickelson trail. Highly recommend the Lodge for all wanting a feel good retreat. Big thanks to the owners Melissa and Cary who were kind and helpful. Their pride in the Lodge is readily apparent

A few of my friends and I stayed here for the weekend for a wedding. It was an amazing stay! Very cute, clean, and cozy cabin. Beautiful view and great service. We had plenty of towels, toiletries, utensils, plates, and even complimentary drinks. Very kind and helpful service. Would definitely recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mountain View Lodge for 3 nights, and I must say it was a lovely experience. As a first-time visitor to the area, having come for a wedding, I was impressed by the lodge's warm hospitality. The owners' kindness and willingness to cater to my needs were outstanding. They have a lovely deck where you can sit in the evenings and enjoy a beverage and visit with others staying or just quietly take in the view. The lodge's simple, no-frills approach was actually a major draw for me, as I was seeking a more local, down-to-earth experience rather than a luxurious hotel stay. If you prefer authentic, personalized experiences when traveling, Mountain View Lodge excelled at this. The location can be quite pleasant, despite the noise from traffic during the day when sitting outside, which is expected due to its proximity to a main road. However, the atmosphere transforms in the evenings. The second-floor deck is particularly enjoyable, offering a serene experience while sitting out. I have already begun considering returning to the area with my family and would definitely choose to stay at this lodge again. The exceptional service, from the owners to the cleaning staff, and even the owner's dog, made my stay excellent. Thank you, Melissa and Kerry. Keep doing what you are doing!

Great two nights staying at the Mountain View Lodges. My dad and I stayed there to ride motorcycles around the black hills. We met both owners who were incredible accommodating and nice to talk to during breakfast in the morning. They have done a lot of work to really make this place a cozy place to stay. The gas fire stove on the deck was a great addition and they even have a wood fire pit (we didn't use it). Great central spot for the black hills. AC blew cold, breakfast consisted of pastries and coffee. They lodge was located across the street from Dairy Delight and a gas station within walking distance

I had a wonderful stay at Mountain View Lodge & Cabins, and I can't say enough good things about it. The location is absolutely stunning – peaceful, scenic, and the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed. You can tell that the place is cared for with a lot of love and attention to detail. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the owner. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything – whether it was recommendations for nearby hikes, places to eat, or just a friendly chat. You truly feel like a guest, not just a customer. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with beautiful surroundings and genuine hospitality, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back – thank you for the amazing stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mountain View Lodge & Cabins, The cozy cabins were clean, comfortable, and perfectly nestled in the stunning Black Hills, offering views right from the deck. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making check-in a breeze and providing great local tips for exploring Hill City and the surrounding ares. The serene atmosphere, combined with modern amenities, made it a perfect stay for our family. Whether you're stay in the area for hiking, sightseeing, or just relaxing. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!
